St. Paul’s Cathedral will be 100 years old and was lit up this evening and half the photographers in the state were present. The Cathedral was last lit in honor of the death of Pope John Paul I in 1978. I arrived around 8:30 and grabbed a spot in the median between lanes of John Ireland Blvd in front of the Church. Then I started moving around.
Looking up the Street at the crowd, the street was packed with people cruising up and down in cars looking at the Cathedral while droves of photographers setup tripods across the street, I have never seen such a large collection of Bogen/Manfrotto tripods. Anyway this was my attempt to capture the action. You can see the lighting to the left, it was stadium lighting on a semi with a large fire engine sized generator next to it.
Dome from the rear of the building, the light rays from the illumination are visible.
From behind a couple blocks with the Moon in the background.
