I just returned home from being in Florida for a week only to see we were in a slight risk area. I monitored the progress of the cold front rip it’s way Southward thru Minnesota setting off two fairly large cells near Sterns County moving SE along I-94 so I did a minimal setup of equipment and set out an hour later to intercept one of the cells in Blaine. Saw some nice shelf’s and cool scud. I only took a few photos (of the same thing) at one stop (and perhaps a half hour of video during the trip).img_2668.JPG

I started heading towards the cells furthest South East along the Cold Front after debating between that and the cell that was heading thru the Metro. I-35 Southbound was closed and with a storm catching up I jumped off the interstate and decided just to check out that cell and some cells further South. Saw the shelf on the cell that ripped it’s way thru downtown Minneapolis, but, proceeded S. When I hit 494 I could not quite do it and returned home. I did not run into any reportable conditions. Some minor ponding on water in low lying spots (less than an inch), maybe two rouge hail stones no larger than a pea, and some minor twigage blow-down in a couple of spots that was about it. Their is always Tuesday?
